The Sunday Mass...

*** Father Todd will be delivering the Weekly Mass Packets (including worship bulletins, DVD, and Holy Communion) on Monday afternoon/early evening.  If you live in the Mount Sterling area and would like to receive the Weekly Mass Packet, please call 859-404-8374.  God bless you! ***

Dear Friends,

Here’s the video from Sunday Mass!  If you would like to view Father Todd’s sermon only, go to the 31:52 minute mark.  To view the complete Mass, just hit “play”!

We pray that this video will be a blessing to you!  Maybe you aren’t able to physically attend worship right now (especially as we continue to deal with the Corona Virus).  If so, we’d be very pleased to know that you’re worshiping Jesus with us “virtually”!  This virtual Mass at Bethany House was celebrated on the Third Sunday in Advent – December 13, AD 2020.

Because of the current spike in COVID-19 cases we are not celebrating in-person Masses.  But, even though you can’t attend in person, you can still watch this video of Mass and receive Spiritual Communion.  At the point when you would normally receive Holy Communion, you can pray the following prayer to receive Spiritual Communion...

“Dear Jesus, I believe that you are truly present in the Holy Sacrament.  I love you above all things, and I desire to possess you within my soul.  And since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, I beseech you to come spiritually into my heart.  I unite myself to you, together with all your faithful people gathered around every Altar of your Church, and I embrace you with all the affections of my soul.  Never permit me to be separated from you.  Amen.”

If you feel comfortable doing so, come and join us sometime (when COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted)!  We gather for worship at 10:30 on Sunday mornings!  :)

Always remember – We love Jesus and we love you, too!

Music for Advent...

“Heaven Comes to Earth” – a special piece by Father Todd

Hello, all!

I’d like to share a musical fantasy inspired by the hymn “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence” – often sung during Advent and Christmas.  The piece (an improvisation) is in three parts.  It’s in the third part that the beautiful hymn makes its appearance.  I hope you enjoy it!

In case you would like to see the words, here they are…

“Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence”

Tune: Picardy

Let all mortal flesh keep silence, and with fear and trembling stand; ponder nothing earthly minded, for with blessing in his hand Christ our God to earth descendeth, our full homage to demand.

King of kings, yet born of Mary, as of old on earth he stood, Lord of lords, in human vesture, in the Body and the Blood: He will give to all the faithful his own self for heavenly food.

Rank on rank the host of heaven spreads its vanguard on the way, as the Light of light descendeth from the realms of endless day, that the powers of hell may vanish as the darkness clears away.

At his feet the six-winged seraph; cherubim with sleepless eye, veil their faces to the Presence, as with ceaseless voice they cry: “Alleluia, alleluia!  Alleluia, Lord most high!”

Amen.

The virtual pipe organ I played to make this recording is the 1903 Cavaillé-Coll at the Church of Notre-Dame in Metz, France. It's a 48 rank (in this case, also 48 speaking stops or voices) pipe organ with four divisions - Grand Orgue (or Great Organ), Récit Expressif (or Swell Organ), Positif (or Positive Organ), and Pédale (or Pedal Organ).

Blessings!  :)
